With the New Year almost upon us, many people working in construction will start thinking about spending a week in Las Vegas. This is not to play the slots or work the tables though, (or not exclusively in any case), but to take in the 2013 World of Concrete event.
A 40-year-old event, it is expected that international renowned manufacturers, suppliers, specifiers, and concrete flooring contractors the world over will all be in attendance. A showcase for the industry, many new products, types of machinery, and initiatives are introduced here.
Arguably, the main reason for attending the conference is to network with like-minded professionals. With the five-day show including a host of exhibits and seminars, there is a great deal to take note of too.
A highlight at this year’s event will see Bobcat present a range of its powerful machines, some not seen before, as part of the Material Handling exhibit.
Other exhibits on offer will be the World of Masonry, featuring products, tools, and training for the trade, while the Technology for Construction exhibit will look at new and innovative method from which the industry could benefit.
Particularly relevant to those in concrete flooring, the Concrete Surfaces and Decorative exhibit also showcases cutting-edge developments. From hardeners to sealants, all will be able to be put to the test here.
There is a little fun thrown in too. With a number of competitions, such as Artistry in Decorative Concrete, it is almost something of a spectator event.
UK businesses are likely to be well represented at the event, which runs from February 4 to February 8, 2013.
