Sir Ken Morrison CBE is Life President and former chairman of Morrisons (Wm Morrison Supermarkets PLC), the fourth largest supermarket group in the United Kingdom. His new farm/livestock facility Haddocks Farm is situated very close to his home – Myton Hall at Myton-On-Swale.

Services provided:

  • 10,500m2 Livestock Building – 150mm thick slab with 1 layer of continuous mesh reinforcement including reinforced concrete slab edge thickenings & upstands. Machine laid continuous pours with a lightly ridged tamped finish
  • 1,000m2 Grain Store – 150mm thick slab with 1 layer of continuous mesh reinforcement. Traditional hand-laid floor with a powerfloated finish to class SR3 in accordance with BS 8204-2: 2003
  • 1,200m2 Silage Clamp – 150mm thick slab with 1 layer of continuous mesh reinforcement including welded water-bars under all joints. Traditional hand-laid floor with a stiff-brushed finish
  • 1,500m2 Reception/Workshop/Machinery Building – 150mm thick slab with 1 layer of continuous mesh reinforcement. Traditional hand-laid floor with a powerfloated finish to class SR3 in accordance with BS 8204-2: 2003
  • 11,000m2 External Hardstanding – 175mm thick with 1 layer of mesh reinforcement. Pavement laid manually using large-bay method with a brushed finish & trowelled margins

Issues and constraints we had to work around:

  • Our experience and expertise enabled us to carry out and complete the project during severe weather conditions (Nov/Dec 2010 – heavy snow/very cold conditions)
